How important is local search?  So important that without it you are pretty much guaranteed to go under.  Some of the most common questions we get regarding the how important is local search are:

Is having a Google Plus page enough?

Is having a YouTube channel enough?

I have a website, isn’t that enough?

Why does my competitor pull up when I Google My Business?

How Important Is Local Search

Being located in Grand Junction Colorado could be a good thing and a bad thing for us.  From a local search perspective we show up great, from a national perspective we show up great as well.  That is because we have spent a lot of time and energy focusing locally on the areas we wanted to expand in and nationally i different areas. The local search has played a huge role in our rise in local business, of course in the areas we want to grow locally.

How did we do it?

We have always paid attention to the search engines and how people search.  Updates from Google, Bing and Yahoo will follow the trends of how the general public searches and over the years more and more people are including specific locations.  However if your site isn’t keyworded, and constantly SEO with the locations then you are going to have a harder time showing up.

We were early adopters of Google Plus, Google My Business, and Google Maps. This has helped us in the local search more than anything.  Many businesses don’t understand the difference between the 3 and they don’t know if they are on all of them if any.  Simply put, you need to be there, if you aren’t get a professional to help you figure it out.

One simple way to discover if you are listed correctly is to go to www.gybo.com and see if you are there, and are you there correctly?  A really simple way to make sure that all your listings are correct is to use a service like Moz Local and get all your information correct in one spot and they take care of the rest.  The last tip to make sure you are showing up in local search is to make sure that you are listed on Yelp. Even if you aren’t a restaurant, you need to be on Yelp.  Why?  Because 90% of search results will return a local Yelp listing.  If you aren’t there, your competitor probably is.

Search Engine Marketing is Overwhelming

We know that all this terminology and other stuff is not really your cup of tea.  That is why we provide services to help you through this.  It isn’t hard, but it does take time.  Did you hear that?  You can do this yourself!  I know there are those that won’t, so we will.  If you are overwhelmed by your search engine marketing or lack thereof call us, let’s chat!

3 Marketing Cliches that Drive Us Nuts

By Business, Business Services, Marketing, News, SEO, Social Media, Strategy, Successful Marketing No Comments

Cliches drive us crazy in general, but marketing cliches are even worse.  It takes so much creativity and a lot of communication for a marketing campaign to be successful. This is the reason marketing clichés drive us nuts. Although some might even say we have climaxed with marketing cliché, that alone drives us nuts. There are several marketing clichés that can distress any marketer and drive them crazy. However, here are the 3 worst marketing clichés to avoid at all costs.

‘Data is as Good [fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][contentbox align=”left”]as[/contentbox] Oil’

People always try to sound genius when they are not by using words that are ‘big’ or ‘techie’ in nature. It is true that data is an integral part of any marketing campaign, but it useless if not refined. Just like oil, it is an important product that is useless in its crude form; it must be refined to be worth something.

‘The Customer is the Heart of the Business’

It is very common for business executives to refer to clients as the heart or center of their businesses. Yes, customers are critical to a business, because without them a brand’s products would be worthless. However, why go the extreme. Enthusiasts would for sure retweet posts like this on Twitter. Why not cater for your clients and move forward?

‘Brands Need to Have Authentic Conversations with their Clients’

What? Does it mean that the business was never authentic with their clients before? Brands should always be genuine with their customers from the word go. Why get this cliché somewhere along the way?[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]

Facebook Ads – Worth it or Wasteful?

By Business Services, Facebook, Marketing, Social Media, Strategy No Comments

We are constantly asked if Facebook Ads are worth it or wasteful.  While this is focusing on Facebook Ads, you should really ask that question of any advertising you are doing,  is it worth it or wasteful?

Despite the fact that Facebook was not designed to provide businesses with a marketing platform, it has grown to be a social media advertising giant. In 2013, the firm made more than $5.6 billion from ads. Facebook allows businesses to purchase ads according to the marketing strategy or method they are implementing because the ad options are objective-oriented. This means that the strategy Facebook uses for advertisements is based on a firm’s marketing goals and objectives.
This ensures that the chosen ad option by a business will bring them a higher return on investments. Unlike in previous years, Facebook has improved its social context to ensure that every user can see the businesses their friends have liked. These strategies have been improved by Facebook trying to enhance the value of its ads so that businesses can attain great results.

Is this really Worth it or Wasteful?

Yes, it is sure worth it. According to a survey conducted by Hubspot in 2013, 74% of marketers integrate Facebook in their lead generation campaign initiatives, and 52% said they got a buyer through the social media platform. Datalogix (a firm that records the behaviors and habits of shoppers in more than 100 million households in the U.S) and Facebook partnered in 2012 to determine the Facebook ads’ effectiveness. The study showed that 60 distinct Facebook campaigns realized great results: 50% of the campaigns realized a ROI 5 times higher while 70% received 3 times ROI on their investments.
Hashtags, likes, the ‘boost post’ button and the ‘build audience’ button are some features of Facebook used for advertising. The ‘Ad Manager’ feature allows businesses to monitor or track their campaigns in addition to getting reports.

One quick way to make it wasteful is to not have a clear objective in mind or a clear understanding of your budget. If you have questions about your Facebook advertising or want to get started.  Contact us below and let’s get in touch!
